Fungal Otitis & Food Allergies

This dog suffered from recurrent ear infections that had become resistant to usual ear drop medications. She had been treated several times with antibiotics and steroids but the infections kept reoccurring.

The ears had become "chronically infected" they were thickened, several sebaceous glands were plugged up causing pain and swelling in the ears. Over time the colour of the skin had changed from pink to black. There was a severe fungal and yeast overgrowth.

Pet putty was applied topically to the ears over a period of 3 weeks. The hair grew back, the infections resolved and she has not had another ear infection since.

Note: A diet change was also recommended for this dog as the underlying cause was food allergies.
